The Marianna Kistler-Beach Museum of Art

One of the works in my solo installation/exhibition “Everything Must Go: The Toys of Randy Regier.”

The inspiration for this piece began as an examination of my American culture’s tendency to celebrate violence, to the point where we can readily transmit as ‘play’ to children via the toy industry almost any act of aggression; war (too many toys to mention in this category), crime (toy knives, guns, brass-knuckles), and punching homeless people in the face, as in Coleco’s ‘Happy Hobo’ punching bag which begs “Hit him…Happy always bounces back for more!”
